Dynamic Science Lab

Dedicated to the study of dynamics,
particularly by using computational modelling.

Established by Dr Li Wang, who is a researcher in the field of computational mechanics, particularly in the fluid-structure interaction modelling. Dr Li Wang has an expertise in the development of novel and high-performance numerical methods and solvers, and the numerical modelling of challenging fluid-structure interactions(FSI), such as flapping wings, biological flow, FSI in turbulent flow, FSI in multiphase flow and etc.
Dr Li Wang is open to discussions of any related research and collaborations in related fields. Get contact using the links on the right bottom if interested.

A Few Accomplishments

My current research can be categoried into three main areas, as breifly introduced here.

Fluid-structure-thermal interaction in compressibe flow

FSI involving compressible flow, multiphase flow and rarefied gas, the in house immersed boundary-finite difference method based solver can well resolve the compressible flow wtih shock waves and handle the two-way FSI efficiently.

Fluid-structure-acoustics interaction

Fluid-structure-acoustics interaction, which commonly exists in flapping wings and inspires the next generation efficient and quiet flight. The fluid-structure-acoustics interaction involving complex and moving objects is the focus of this topic.
